The following CIS Benchmarks and CIS Build Kits have been updated or recently released. We've highlighted the major updates below. Each Benchmark and Build Kit includes a full changelog that references all changes.

CIS Benchmarks Updated Last Month

CIS Amazon Linux 2 Benchmark v4.0.0

We are excited to announce the publication of the updated and final release CIS Amazon Linux 2 Benchmark v4.0.0. A lot of effort has gone into analyzing and updating content to this Benchmark. Here are some highlights of the work that was done:

  • Added 59 recommendations and 9 sections
  • Dropped 61 recommendations and 13 sections
  • Updated 229 recommendations and 16 sections

A special thank you to the Linux Community and the Nix team without their hard work, this Benchmark would not have been possible.

CIS Oracle 19c Database STIG Benchmark v1.1.0

We are excited to announce the release of the updated CIS Oracle 19c Database STIG Benchmark v1.1.0, which include changes from the Unclassified DISA Oracle Database 19c STIG V1R5.

We are excited to announce the publication of the updatedCIS IBM AIX 7 Benchmark v1.1.0.

CIS VMware ESXi 8.0 Benchmark v1.3.0

We are excited to announce the publication of CIS VMware ESXi 8.0 Benchmark v1.3.0.

A lot of effort has gone into analyzing, testing, and adding content to this Benchmark. This Benchmark has been audited and remediated against the latest version of VMware ESXi 8, and 17 recommendations were updated.

CIS Microsoft Azure Foundations Benchmark v6.0.0.

The CIS Microsoft Azure Community is pleased to announce the publication of the CIS Microsoft Azure Foundations Benchmark v6.0.0.

Summary of changes in this latest version:

  • 1 recommendations added
  • 17 recommendations updated
  • 30 recommendation deleted
  • 73 tickets Addressed
  • Entra ID Recommendations migrated to CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations Benchmark

The full changelog is included at the end of both the PDF and DOCX files.

CIS Kubernetes Benchmark v2.0.0

We are excited to announce the publication of CIS Kubernetes Benchmark v2.0.0.

This Benchmark has been improved with the following:

  • Added automated assessment content (AAC) and support for Kubernetes versions 1.35 and 1.34
  • Updated audit and remediation procedures for 23 recommendations

This Benchmark exemplifies the great things a community of users, vendors, and subject matter experts can accomplish through consensus collaboration.
