CIS Benchmarks August 2024 Update

The following CIS Benchmarks™ have been updated or recently released. We've highlighted the major updates below. Each Benchmark includes a full changelog that references all changes.

CIS Benchmarks Updated Last Month

CIS Apache HTTP Server 2.4 Benchmark v2.2.0

This Benchmark includes support for the latest release of Apache HTTP Server v2.4.62. Some items of note for this update:

  • The entire Benchmark was reviewed and improved to support v2.4.62
  • All automated recommendations have been reviewed and improved to support v2.4.62
  • Edited and updated scripts and commands to audit and remediate recommendations more efficiently

This Benchmark exemplifies the great things a community of users, vendors, and subject matter experts can accomplish through consensus collaboration. The CIS community thanks the entire consensus team, with special recognition to Tony Wilwerding, Daniel Ferradal, and Lars Heide.

CIS Docker Benchmark v1.7.0

This Benchmark includes support for the latest release of Docker v26.x. Some items of note for this update:

  • The entire Benchmark was reviewed and improved to support v26.x
  • All automated recommendations have been reviewed and improved to support v26.x

CIS Microsoft Edge Benchmark v3.0.0

Some items of note for this update:

  • Added 14 settings
  • Updated seven settings
  • Removed one setting
  • Renamed three settings

New CIS Benchmarks Released Last Month

CIS Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Autopilot Benchmark v1.0.0

This Benchmark provides prescriptive guidance for running Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) AutoPilot following recommended security controls and includes the controls which can be modified by an administrator of GKE AutoPilot.

This was a collaborative effort. Special thanks go out to Andrew Peabody, Poonam Lamba, Shannon Kularathna, and the entire Google Team for providing insights and assistance in making this Benchmark the best it can be!
