SANS self-paced ranges are a hands-on training solution with 24/7 access, covering a wide range of cybersecurity topics designed with challenges and hints that support continuous knowledge and skill development. It allows participants to advance their hands-on technical skills at their own pace, essential for mastering the latest defense techniques and technologies in the industry. Participants may choose from one of two solutions: SANS Skills Quest by NetWars - Core Edition or DFIR NetWars Continuous to experiment with real world scenarios and develop hands-on skills.

SANS Cyber Ranges Features

SANS Cyber Ranges are an easy and convenient option for those needing the flexibility to practice when it is convenient for them and go deeper into challenges and content. NetWars poses a series of multifaceted, interactive, and situational cybersecurity challenges. The challenges test a wide variety of disciplines and subject matter across five levels that increase in difficulty. Over the course of four to six months (depending on the selected version), you can master real-world tactics and techniques in a safe learning environment.

• Participants have an opportunity to advance their hands-on technical skills. Players learn the areas where they need to increase their proficiency so they may improve, come back, and continue the challenge.
• Participants have 24/7 access for four to six months. At the end, participants will receive a personalized assessment and scorecard of the skills which they demonstrated during the cyber range, as well as up to 12 CPE credits.
• Participants may choose from one of two SANS Cyber Range variants: SANS Skills Quest by NetWars or DFIR NetWars Continuous to experiment with real-world scenarios and develop hands-on skills.
  • SANS Skill Quest by NetWars - Core Edition - Help computer scientists and cryptologists of the past solve mysteries. They will test our defensive, offensive, forensic, and threat intelligence aptitude (run time: six months).
  • DFIR NetWars Continuous - Take on the role of cyber investigator and uncover key clues from the evidence. Parse through challenges and reveal key facts within files, processes and programs (run time: four months).
