Activities that occur during this time may include, but are not limited to:

  • Customer needs, trusted partners recommendations, and vendor submitted suggestions will be used to determine product offerings.
  • MS-ISAC membership surveys will be utilized to identify needs.
  • The CIS Controls will be considered in identifying product ability to meet goals.

Opportunity Development

Activities that occur during this time may include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of vendor selection criteria
  • Establishment of product specifications
  • Consultations with outside analysts to determine industry leaders
  • Arrange contacts with industry leaders

Vendor Outreach

Activities that occur during this time may include, but are not limited to:

  • Engagement with identified industry leaders regarding opportunity
  • Selection of vendors to participate in live demonstration

Vendor Proposal Review

Activities that occur during this time may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review of product offerings by technical representative from CIS
  • Evaluation of product offerings by Product Review Board
  • Checking of references
  • Submission of proposal by vendor to CIS

Vendor Selection and Negotiation

Activities that occur during this time may include, but are not limited to:

  • Chosen vendors are contacted.
  • Terms and conditions are clarified with chosen vendors.
  • Contracts are drawn with chosen vendors.
  • Website and marketing strategy are developed for purchasing opportunity.
  • Contract approval process is performed.
