When the world turns its attention to a major event, threat actors often do the same. International sporting events, political gatherings, festivals, and community celebrations can face cyber threats, physical security concerns, information operations, and operational disruptions all at once. Preparing for that convergence requires more than a strong security team. It requires coordinated planning, trusted partnerships, synchronized communication, and a shared understanding of the threat landscape.

During FIFA World Cup 2026, the Center for Internet Security (CIS) collaborated with FIFA, host city organizers, public safety agencies, and intelligence partners to support one of the largest and most complex security operations ever assembled for a global sporting event. In this webinar, experts from CIS, FIFA, and other partners will share lessons from the tournament and explain how collective defense, real-time threat monitoring, and intelligence sharing strengthened situational awareness and operational decision-making.

This session is intended for SLTT leaders and professionals responsible for cybersecurity, IT operations, incident response, risk, compliance, elections, and public safety, where they will learn how to apply these practices to improve readiness, resilience, and public safety at future events in their own communities, with additional CIS resources and white papers available to help continue their planning.
