Center for Internet Security Presents Inaugural President’s Award

CIS Services Program Manager Kateri Gill is First Recipient

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y., and WASHINGTON D.C., December 21, 2021 – The Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS®) has awarded its first annual President’s Award to Kateri Gill, a five-year employee of CIS, for demonstrating outstanding performance and leadership.

The President’s Award has been established to recognize one CIS staff member each year who exhibits exemplary leadership not only in their role, but across the organization. The recipient must also have made outstanding contributions and shown a commitment to the CIS mission and 12 leadership principles, including actively engaging and enabling others to realize their full leadership potential.

Kateri Gill began at CIS as a Program Specialist in 2016 and is now the Services Program Manager. In addition, she organized the Hackers softball team, where she has proven to be not only a versatile player but also a successful coach, leading the team to a third place finish in the league in 2021.  Kateri has also served as the 2020 Q3 co-chair for CIS Cares, the employee volunteer program benefiting dozens of charitable organizations in New York’s Capital Region and beyond.

Gill says she is still surprised that she was chosen as the first President’s Award winner. “It’s definitely an emotional thing for me, because it means that what I’m enjoying doing and all the fun I’ve had at CIS has actually been helpful to other people too.” She adds, “I can’t wait to see who will earn it next, because there are so many people who are so deserving.”

In addition to the President’s Award, Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst Casey Cannon, Senior Director of Sales Operations Laurie Hester and Senior Program Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Greta Noble have been named 2021 Star Performers for their contributions and dedication to the CIS Leadership Principles.
