13 Winners Selected in National Cybersecurity Poster Contest

New York 8th Grader Wins First Place

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y., and WASHINGTON D.C., April 28, 2022 – The Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS®) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center® (MS-ISAC®) have announced the 13 winners of the national “Kids Safe Online” poster contest. The winners were selected from more than 260 submissions from across the country.

The contest is open to students in grades K-12, and the goal is to educate kids in age-appropriate ways about the dangers lurking online and ways to protect themselves and their communities. Students create artwork, illustrating various issues related to cybersecurity, from cyberbullying to responsible social media usage, and what to do if they are contacted by a stranger online.

“Cybersecurity is more than just about protecting data and systems. It’s also about protecting another invaluable, irreplaceable resource—our children,” said Karen Sorady, CIS Vice President of MS-ISAC Member Engagement. “We’re so incredibly proud of these contest winners who, through their creativity, are reminding us of the importance of promoting smart choices online among the next generation.”

The winning artwork will be featured in the 2023 cyber safety kid's activity book.
