Iowa becomes the fourth state to incentivize cybersecurity best practices

In July, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed House File 553 into law. The new law makes Iowa the fourth state in the U.S. to incentivize cybersecurity best practices, including the CIS Critical Security Controls. It would offer a safe harbor for businesses who voluntarily adopt best practices, and ultimately provide greater protection to consumers.

Curt Dukes, CIS Executive Vice President and General Manager, Security Best Practices spoke with the Doug Wagner Morning Show on NewsRadio 600 WMT in Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities about what that means.
