Criminals are Using Emerging Technology to Target Law Enforcement, MS-ISAC Report Warns
New technologies have made it easier for criminal enterprises and nation-state adversaries to compromise U.S. law enforcement’s sensitive investigations and operations, according to a new report from the Center and Internet Security and Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. The report recommends that law enforcement bodies tighten up their security policies, including encrypting all radio communications, requiring law enforcement personnel to disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features on all devices while on duty and removing personally identifiable information from online data sources.
