
Daniel Deeney

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Paladin Cloud, Inc.
Daniel Deeney is a member of the CIS Board of Directors. He brings over 25 years of cybersecurity experience as a chief executive officer, venture capital investor and board member. He co-founded Paladin Cloud, a leader in AI-powered cloud security, to help enterprises manage and prioritize their most important risks.
Prior to Paladin Cloud, Daniel was CEO of Aetherpal, a leading secure remote access company helping enterprise customers secure their workstations and mobile devices. VMware acquired Aetherpal in a strategic transaction in 2019. Daniel also has over 15 years of experience investing in cybersecurity and enterprise software companies as a General Partner at New Venture Partners, a $300M institutional venture capital fund and leading corporate venture capital funds at T-Mobile Ventures and Lucent New Ventures. Daniel’s investment experience includes serving on eight cybersecurity boards of venture capital backed companies. Prior to Lucent, he led financial planning at Mobilemedia Communications, a wireless messaging company, where he played a key role in the company’s IPO.
Daniel holds a master’s degree in management of technology from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School/Penn Engineering. He holds a MBA from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from San Diego State University. Daniel is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He previously served on the venture capital advisory boards at Verizon and Sprint.
