CIS, a nonprofit and leading global provider of cybersecurity services, today unveiled a new branding campaign to reflect its evolving cybersecurity mission. CIS may be familiar to many by its full name, The Center for Internet Security®. While this name will not go away, the new branding evolution to “CIS” will be followed with many new services, features, and partnerships to meet the cybersecurity needs of global public and private organizations.

“CIS is a forward-thinking nonprofit entity that harnesses the power of a global IT community to safeguard private and public organizations against cyber threats,” said Steve Spano, President and COO for CIS. The CIS Controls and CIS Benchmarks are a global standard and recognized set of best practices for securing IT systems and data against the most pervasive attacks. These proven guidelines are continually refined and verified by a volunteer global community of experienced IT professionals. CIS is home to the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC®), the go-to resource for cyber threat prevention, protection, response, and recovery for state, local, tribal, and territorial government entities.

“Cyber threats are global but can reach down with intense focus on local targets in both public and private sector organizations,” said Spano. “As threats expand globally, so too must the solutions we provide to organizations dealing with these growing threats. Our focus is impact, not profit. We exist to help public and private entities create confidence in a connected world,” Spano added.

CIS chose “Confidence in the Connected World” as a tagline because it captures its purpose and meaning: that everyone deserves a secure online experience. The campaign reflects CIS’ long-standing commitment to sharing collective knowledge and innovation and its ability to help members and clients move from compliance to confidence.

“The new branding will be phased in over the coming months and will touch nearly every facet of our business,” said Kerry Coffey, Senior V.P. of Business Development. “All these positive changes – our growth, our mission, and now our evolved branding – are empowering the professionals at CIS.”

Part of the CIS rebranding is rolling out a new logo. The gradated swirls of the new logo reflect the power of a global community focused on a shared mission of improving cybersecurity. The CIS monogram is set in a strong Capitolium font to represent CIS’ strength and commitment to its mission.

“CIS is a vibrant, growing enterprise that helps people around the world start secure and stay secure. Our new brand identity reflects the positive growth and dynamic nature of our organization,” said Paul Harrington, Sr. Director of Marketing. “The branding campaign, created with our partners at Duality Branding, LLC, will reflect the continued passion of our staff, our members, our communities, and our services.
