Skyhigh becomes the first Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) to join CIS, providing state, local and tribal government agencies access to advanced cloud security

Skyhigh Networks, the world’s leading Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), today announced a partnership with CIS (Center for Internet Security) to provide state, local and tribal government agencies direct access to a vetted cloud security solution via CIS CyberMarket. As the first CASB to collaborate with CIS, this new partnership means members will now have access to Skyhigh services and technology, helping members enforce security, compliance and governance policies across their software-as-a-service (SaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms.

“The IT shift to cloud offers government agencies the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and cybersecurity. CIS connects agencies with market leaders like Skyhigh Networks, in the most innovative technology categories such as CASB,” said Michael Roling, CISO, State of Missouri. “For example, Skyhigh’s CASB allows us to strategically use the cloud without compromising security and governance; and similarly, state and local CISOs will benefit from direct access to Skyhigh’s solutions.”

CIS CyberMarket, formerly called the CIS Trusted Purchasing Alliance, leverages the collective purchasing power of the public sector to collaborate with leading cybersecurity providers. Skyhigh satisfied a rigorous evaluation from CIS staff and member CISOs to become CIS’s first-and-only CASB partner. Member agencies can purchase Skyhigh’s CASB solutions at special CIS contract discounts through all Skyhigh authorized resellers.

“Almost all the agencies we work with plan to move to the cloud, but to do so they require a dedicated security solution designed to address the threats and vulnerabilities unique to cloud services,” said Steve Spano, President & COO of CIS. “After rigorous vetting from our staff and the CIS CyberMarket Product Review Board, we look forward to partnering with Skyhigh to offer their CASB solution to state, local and tribal agencies across the country.”

This new partnership with CIS follows Skyhigh’s announcement the company was the first-and-only CASB to achieve Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Compliance. Both designations further validate the growing demand for security as government agencies move computing to the cloud.  “When organizations move to the cloud, they leave behind the network perimeter and need a new point of control for all their users, devices and cloud applications. Skyhigh’s CASB evolves security from prevention to protection, enforcing context and content aware policies wherever data travels in the cloud,” said Jon Fyffe, Director of U.S. State Local and Education, Skyhigh Networks. “We are looking forward to the partnership with CIS to help their member agencies transition to the cloud with confidence and trust.”
