CIS Hardened Images on Microsoft Azure
CIS Hardened Images provide security beyond what’s offered in base virtual machine images. They are preconfigured to the security recommendations of the CIS Benchmarks, trusted configuration guidelines developed and used by a global community of IT experts. CIS Hardened Images are available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace and are Azure certified and CIS is a Microsoft Partner.

All of these images are on Azure Marketplace and on the Azure Government Marketplace. To access STIG Images, navigate to Level 3.

CIS and Microsoft Work Together
CIS Hardened Images are Azure certified. They have been pre-tested for readiness and compatibility with the Microsoft Azure public cloud, Microsoft Cloud Platform hosted by service providers through the Cloud OS Network, and on-premises private cloud Windows Server Hyper-V deployments managed by customers. This testing process helps deliver the highest-quality experience. As of July 2018, CIS Hardened Images are also available on Azure Government.

CIS Azure Foundations Benchmark
The CIS community and Microsoft partnered together to develop the CIS Azure Foundations Benchmark. This is the first ever set of security configuration best practices for Microsoft Azure. These industry-accepted best practices go beyond the high-level security guidance already available by providing Microsoft Azure customers with clear, step-by-step implementation and assessment procedures.
