Enter the Ransomware Arena, Live the Experience, and Discover How You Will React!

Contingency plans in cybersecurity are essential when preparing for any incident, whether it is malware infecting an end user’s hard drive or ransomware shutting down a city’s network. Having a thorough, efficient, and executable plan is a great first step, but exactly how effective your plans are remains unknown until it is “go-time.” This is why the MS-ISAC is proudly inviting all MS- and EI-ISAC members to a ransomware tabletop exercise hosted by FireEye.

Whether you have a plan in place or are currently developing one, join the exercise to immerse yourself in a simulated ransomware attack scenario, experience crunch time, and learn how you would react in the moment!

Ransomware Tabletop Exercise Details

Starting at 4:00 p.m. Eastern on October 26, FireEye will host a 30-minute tabletop exercise dubbed “Enter the Ransomware Arena, Live the Experience, and Discover How You Will React!” Join Mandiant consultants on the frontlines in a Ransomware Attack Simulation. You will experience the stages of a ransomware attack with guidance focused on the decisions at hand.

For those unfamiliar, tabletop exercises are meant to help organizations consider different risk scenarios and prepare for potential cyber threats. Many scenarios can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, making them a convenient tool for putting your team in the cybersecurity mindset. In addition, each scenario lists the processes that are tested, threat actors that are identified, and the assets that are impacted; giving you a perfect opportunity to develop or test your response plans.

FireEye is a leading cybersecurity company that has been involved in the detection and prevention of major cyber-attacks. It provides hardware, software, and services to investigate cybersecurity attacks, protect against malicious software, and analyze IT security risks.

U.S. SLTTs – Join the Tabletop Exercise

Join us for the October 26 MS- and EI-ISAC Monthly Membership call at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The tabletop will begin immediately following the call at 4:00 p.m. Team up with your fellow ISAC members to end the ransomware threat and stop the simulated cybercriminals in their tracks! How will you react? Will you cut the internet? Do you have a spokesperson to handle communications? If you are ready to consider the risks and assess the possible outcomes of a ransomware attack, you cannot miss this session!

MS- and EI-ISAC Monthly Membership Meetings and tabletop exercises are restricted solely to members of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and the Elections Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC). To be a member, your organization must be considered a U.S. State, Local, Tribal, or Territorial government (SLTT) or an elections entity. If you are not a member and believe you may qualify, please complete the registration form and a member of our team will follow up with you soon.
