CIS at the HIMSS Global Health Conference Aug 9-13!

The Center for Internet Security (CIS) is excited to be attending the upcoming HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas! Our cybersecurity experts will be on-site to help healthcare industry professionals understand the low- and no-cost resources available from CIS to help them secure their organizations against today’s most persistent cyber threats, including ransomware.

The cost of cybercrime is often calculated in terms of financial loss, inconvenience, or reputational damage. But when it comes to health and hospital systems, the harm caused by a cyber-attack can be far worse.

Learn About Our Malicious Domain Blocking and Reporting (MDBR) Service

This year, we’re especially excited to tell you about our Malicious Domain Blocking and Reporting (MDBR) service. In partnership with Akamai, CIS offers MDBR at no cost to all public and private hospitals and related healthcare organizations in the United States.*

MDBR prevents harmful web domains from connecting with IT systems, helping limit infections related to known malware, ransomware, phishing, and other cyber threats. It’s an additional layer of cybersecurity protection that is proven, effective, and easy to deploy.

We’d be happy to tell you more about it at our booth, C365 – Cybersecurity Command Center, which will be located at the Caesar’s Forum Conference Center. Click to find us on the floorplan map.

Protecting Hospitals Against Cyber Threats with CIS’s Edward Mattison

In addition to the opportunity to connect with the CIS team at our booth, you’ll also find CIS’s EVP of Operations & Security Services, Edward Mattison, speaking about MDBR in a presentation entitled Protecting Hospitals Against Advanced Cyber Threats: CIS Malicious Domain Blocking & Reporting (MDBR). The presentation will be on Wednesday, August 11 at 10:45 A.M. – 11:05 A.M. PST at Caesars, Booth C300 – Cybersecurity Command Center – Theater A. Ed will cover how MDBR works and explain how all hospitals (public and private) can take advantage of the free service.

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Global Health Conference & Exhibition is one of the world’s most important health information and technology events. This year, the conference and exhibition will take place August 9-13 across several Las Vegas venues, offered both in-person and digitally. Come and learn how to protect your organization from ransomware-encrypted systems, data breaches, and more from CIS.

We hope to see you there!

*While MDBR was offered at no cost to U.S. private hospitals for a limited time, that offering has been discontinued in favor of MDBR+, a low-cost, cloud-based secure DNS service that provides real-time reporting, custom configurations, and off-network device protection. Learn more about MDBR+ here.
