Take the CIS Controls V7 Survey
The CIS Controls™ have been relied upon for years to help organizations prioritize and implement security best practices. They are developed using a consensus-based approach that applies the defense expertise and cyber threat knowledge of a global community to create a prioritized set of actions. CIS Controls Version 7 was released in March 2018, introducing:
- Basic, Foundational, and Organizational classifications of CIS Controls
- Better alignment with other frameworks (like NIST CSF)
- “One ask” per sub-control
Resources for all
In addition to developing the CIS Controls, our team has worked with the community to build consensus-developed guides for implementing best practices in various environments:
We also developed CIS RAM (CIS Risk Assessment Method), which helps organizations implement the CIS Controls in a risk-informed way. CIS RAM includes step-by-step instructions, templates, and examples to help organizations implement cybersecurity policy in a way that can be understood by legal authorities and regulatory experts.
Help us drive the year ahead
At CIS, we believe in community-driven, consensus-developed resources that help every organization improve its cyber defenses.
2018 was an exciting year for our team with the release of the CIS Controls V7, multiple guides, translations, and more. We're looking for feedback from our community of adopters as we move into 2019, including:
- How you are implementing the CIS Controls
- Areas of interest for new companion guides and tools
