Marketing Manager

 

Job Summary

The Marketing Manager is assigned to the Business Development Program Area at the CIS. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and joining a growing and dynamic marketing group, the Marketing Manager will partner with other marketing and cybersecurity team members to promote the CIS mission and help continue our growth. The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing all facets of marketing for CIS, including strategy, creative development, budgeting, project management, and integrating with sales and membership teams across our 100+ person organization. The Marketing Manager candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in marketing either in-house or on the agency side, will have some management experience, and will be an enthusiastic, organized self-starter who can take a project and own it. Experience working with or managing agency/vendor partners a plus.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Help implement the overall CIS marketing strategy
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
  • Creates budgets, helps develop SOWs, partners with Finance department
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Helps optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels
  • Partners with and helps manage team of marketers to drive key business metrics
  • Accomplishes marketing objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs
  • Establish analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers/members, and continually refine our processes to convert customers
  • Achieves marketing operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing/business or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience, either in-house or on the agency side
  • Demonstrated experience identifying marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; and establishing targeted market share
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning and strategy, marketing concepts, positioning, competitive analysis, understanding the Customer, product development, client relationships, and creative services
  • Experience Adobe Creative Suite and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, notably Excel
  • Supervision or Team Management experience
