Device Engineering Specialist
The Device Engineering Specialist position is assigned to the Operations unit. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Engineering team member to help maintain the infrastructure used to monitor State, Local, Tribal and Territorial (SLTT) government networks. Candidate would be working in East Greenbush, NY.
Duties and Responsibilities
Triage issues related to network security device monitoring
Field questions and customer requests received via phone and email to ensure all items are promptly responded to and completed in a timely manner
Ensure that all open tickets are actively being followed-up on and tracked to completion
Assist customers during the device onboarding process including filling out pre-installation questionnaires and ensuring proper escalation procedures are obtained
Act as a facilitator between a third party vendor and the customer in order to troubleshoot technical problems, coordinate device maintenance and outages, as well as perform general device support activities
Actively work to enhance the processes and procedures used to support the efforts of the CIS Engineering Team
Perform basic troubleshooting of the CIS Albert infrastructure
Effectively transition action items to SOC Analysts and other teams in order to support off-hours, device related work
Other duties as assigned
1-3 years' experience as a Security or Network Administrator, or equivalent knowledge
Working knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems
Working knowledge of various security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions (firewalls and intrusion detection systems)
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis and network/security applications
Excellent customer service skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge
Candidate must be eligible to obtain National Security Clearance
