Lead Specialist

Job Summary

The Lead Specialist is assigned to the Business Development Team at the Center for Internet Security. Reporting to the Program Executive, the Lead Specialist will partner with other cybersecurity team members to promote the CIS mission and help continue our growth. The primary purpose of this position is to manage inbound lead qualification in a timely fashion using both written and verbal communication with the goal of passing along qualified leads to the sales team. A technical background is not required, but an ability to quickly master basic technical concepts is a must. This high-profile position supports the sales organization as the first point of contact for product information and qualifying activity. The Lead Specialist will make decisions based on data trends from both HubSpot and Salesforce systems. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field questions and requests from inbound prospects
  • Review leads generated through our website and other methods to determine which accounts will be passed to our sales team
  • Analyze data for trends to make informed decisions using predefined rules
  • Recommend improvements to HubSpot workflows, personas, forms and call-to-actions
  • Comprehend complex questions and build your company and product expertise to be able to answer questions efficiently and thoroughly
  • Clarify customer needs and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Provide inquiries with the highest quality service and support
  • Work with management to improve the lead qualifying processes
  • Refine target profiles to improve member conversion rates
  • Qualify and rate prospects via phone and email with the ultimate goal of passing qualified leads to the appropriate sales team member in an efficient and effective manner
  • Accurately record information and details of correspondence in Salesforce
  • Other related sales and administrative activities as needed to support the Sales team
  • (Performing direct sales to the customer is not in scope for this position.)

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years' professional experience in a Lead Specialist or Business Development role
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are key
  • Exhibit problem resolution and listening skills
  • Positive and energetic phone skills and excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and understand technology and/or industry terminology
  • Ability to react quickly, make independent decisions and collaborate well across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Lead Qualification experience is a plus
  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce and HubSpot preferred
  • Experience in cybersecurity
