Support Services for Members and Licensees
CIS provides support services ONLY to:
- Organizations that are Members of CIS, and
- Organizations with which CIS has special license arrangements for the
redistribution and utilization of the Benchmarks and Scoring Tools,
specifically:
- Companies and individuals with which CIS has Commercial Use Licenses.
As a benefit of their financial investment, CIS Members and Licensees are eligible to receive up to two hours of support services per month, at no charge, from CIS staff via:
CIS Members and Licensees also have unlimited access to:
- The automated knowledge base
- NG Scoring Tool Users Manual, located in the NG Scoring
Tool package and on the Member's site as a separate download
Support is provided to Members and Licensees for downloading the Benchmarks and
Scoring Tools from the CIS web sites, and
implementing them in the Member / Licensee organization.
Members and Licensees who require more than two hours of service in any given month, are referred to the automated knowledge database, the members discussion forums, or are referred to a CIS-affiliated information security consultant. Implementation support by a CIS-affiliated information security consultant is provided on a fee-for-service basis.
Support Information for Users Who Are Not CIS Members or Licensees
Users who are not CIS Members or Licensees are eligible to receive E-mail support from CIS staff for downloading Benchmark and Scoring Tool files from the CIS public web site. They also have access to the CIS automated knowledge database on the CIS Public Web Site
and the NG Scoring Tool Users' manual, included in the tool download package. Users requesting support for installation of the Scoring Tools and for implementation of the Benchmarks and Tools beyond the scope of content in the knowledge database, are referred to CIS-affiliated information security consultants. Implementation support by a CIS-affiliated information security consultant is provided on a fee-for-service basis.
