MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT FOR U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS U.S. Federal governmental agencies receive a 50% discount on their annual CIS Category 3 Large User Membership fees. Why does CIS provide this discount? CIS membership confers a number of benefits, one of which is the right to redistribute the CIS Security Configuration Benchmarks and Scoring Tools within the members organization. Through a license agreement between CIS and the Department of Homeland Security, this right to redistribute the CIS resources internally is granted to all U.S. Federal government agencies and departments. These U.S. governmental entities will retain this right for as long as the CIS-DHS license agreement remains in effect. In consideration of the CIS-DHS License Agreement, the annual membership fee for other U.S. Federal agencies and departments is $4,500 a 50% discount from the standard annual Category 3 Large User Member fee of $9,000. Thus, when one of these governmental agencies or departments enrolls as a CIS Member, its membership fee entitles them to the other CIS member benefits, including timely electronic notification of updates to the Benchmarks and Scoring Tools; and enhanced Benchmark and Scoring Tool support from CIS staff and developers. Note: This discount is limited to Federal government agencies and departments of the United States of America. Government agencies and departments from other countries are required to pay the standard $9,000 annual CIS Category 3 Large User Membership fee. In addition, this discount is not applied to U.S. federal contractors or subcontractors that use the CIS Benchmarks and Scoring Tools under the Terms of the CIS-DHS License Agreement. |
