Each year, CIS Staff Members and CIS benchmark development team members are invited to speak at different conferences and events about how the CIS consensus effort is influencing information security. In addition, other IS security experts around the world are either mentioning or using the CIS Benchmarks and Scoring Tools in their presentations and teaching seminars. These CIS-related presentations represent: (1) an educational opportunity for CIS members to learn more about the CIS resources and an (2) the opportunity for CIS members to encourage others to use the CIS resources and also to join them in the consensus effort. The following are conference and public meetings at which CIS members and staff will deliver presentations. Attending these sessions is one way you can keep up to date with CIS, the positive influence that the CIS resources is exerting on the security of systems connected to the Internet, and the tremendously helpful role that each member's support of the consensus effort plays in improving information security around the world.
